When I booked a one-way ticket from Singapore to Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2013, I couldn't have imagined that $1,274 would kickstart a life-changing journey to over 50 countries.

I've lived in places as varied as an island in Panama, a village in Thailand, and even a sailboat in the Caribbean.

I've dived in the Philippines, been stranded in the Dominican Republic, gone skiing in Turkey.
I've ridden motorbikes in Vietnam, jumped off waterfalls in Brazil, danced in festivals in Serbia.
I've fallen in love in Mexico, had my heart broken in India, found family all over the world.

What have I learned from all of that?

Never keep your wallet in your back pocket.
