I often meet people on my travels who say things like…
“This is so unlike me but I’m going to … ”
“I would never do this back home but I’m on vacation so fuck it!”
“I’m not usually so brave / daring / uninhibited / free but YOLO, right?”
And then they go on and do wonderful and incredible things.
Bungee jumping. Talking to strangers. Trying new foods. Going on a hike. Scuba diving. Meeting a stranger from a dating app. Skiing. Attending salsa night at the local bar. Taking a pottery class. Reading a chick-lit novel.
All kinds of “wild” things they wouldn’t otherwise do - if not for the fact that they’ve traveled somewhere away from their home, their comfort zone.
What if… we could bring a little bit of that “travel self” into our real lives?
