I typed “Productivity” into the Google search bar and the first thing that popped up is:

Productivity is a measure of economic performance that compares the amount of goods and services produced (output) with the amount of inputs used to produce those goods and services.

- U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

Beyond the slew of results with definitions, there were results like “What Is Productivity? Definition and Ways to Improve”, “How to Make the Most of Your Workday” and “20 Easy Ways to Boost Your Productivity”.

We live in a world that is obsessed with getting more done in as little time as possible.

My question is… why?

And what does that mean for the lives we lead?
